Andre Agassi Still Serving

July 23, 2007

“I have been very blessed and had many opportunities available to me. Children today face so many obstacles. If I can make a positive impact on at least one child’s life, then it has all been worthwhile.” —Andre Agassi, founder of the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.

The AACF has supported more than 20 organizations (including the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy) & raised more than $60 million to provide recreational, educational & career opportunities for at-risk children in the Las Vegas area. Every dollar raised is used for the kids as all operating costs are underwritten.

The 12th Annual Grand Slam for Children, which benefits the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, will be held on October 6th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Scheduled to appear: Matchbox Twenty, Carlos Santana, Jerry Seinfeld & George Wallace. For ticket info, call (702)227-5700 or e-mail info@agassi.net.

Andre is the penultimate philanthropic athlete. He is sincere and hands-on and generous and he gets others to follow his example and pony up their time and money for really good causes. Some other programs his foundation supports are: the Andre Agassi Boys and Girls Club, Boys Hope / Girls Hope, Child Haven, CLASS! Publications, Cynthia Bunker and Joy McClenahan Memorial Scholarships, Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Stars, I Have A Dream Foundation,
Las Vegas Philharmonic, Youth Concert Series, Las Vegas SUN Camp Fund, Operation School Bell, and the YMCA of Southern Nevada. Thanks for thinking of Andre.
